Feeling under pressure to write content?

Already this week, I’ve thought about the Design Wellness blog and the content we should be putting out at least 15 to 20 times. Sometimes you can get caught up in the weekly grind to get information to your audience and lose sight of why you’re writing the content in the first place.

So to reinforce why you’re making that effort, I’ll list why you should be blogging and the benefits it’s bringing to your business.

You’re providing valuable content to your readers

By creating content that your readers can relate to, or by informing them of new things that will help them in their own lives – your reputation with your audience increases.

Over time, that reputation turns into trust, and therefore the confidence people have in you and your services builds. It’s a kind of indirect way to gain that trust and ultimately it may be the difference that’s needed for someone to reach out to you.

An easy opportunity for you to utilize keywords that help your search ranking

Any opportunity to add keywords to your therapy website, you need to take. The more keywords you’re using the higher your site is going to appear alongside your competitors.

For example if you blogged about the latest CBT techniques in Manchester, your site will then start to rank for the keywords  ‘CBT Manchester’. The more content you put out about a specific topic the better your ranking will be.

Where to enter those keywords

Each one of our websites has an SEO box at the bottom of it where you can specify the keywords for that post as well as writing it in the content. Ensure you add a description and also a social image so that when you share that post across your social media a relevant image pulls in.

Blogging won’t cost you the world

Over the weekend, we received 3 emails from SEO companies trying to sell us search engine optimisation packages. You might be aware of such emails, and the costs of those services can spiral into the hundreds of pounds a month if you want to rank for more popular search terms. Blogging is a free version of that, and over time will produce similar results if done correctly.

Increase your sites share-ability

We’ve all shared a funny post to our friends on Facebook, or sent a recipe from BBC Goodfood to someone after we’ve cooked up a storm in the kitchen. Sharing posts is a staple of our day to day lives, and the more shares your content gets, the better it will be received by Google.

Sometimes the best way to get your name out there is by doing guest posts on other peoples sites, this helps add variety to their own content and in turn gives your site a direct link back to you. For example, we recently did a Q&A with a couple of our therapists, and added the link to their site on those posts. As a result, Google has recognised this link and increased the reputation of the site.

Create an area for your clients to find additional resources

Treat your blog like a resource collection for those looking for support or help. With today’s society glued to their phones, any amount of positive content that can be made accessible to them could be the difference between a bad day and a good one.

Categorize your content, and email your clients about your newly posted article to keep the conversation going and the confidence in you and your services building.

Want to know a little more?

At times it feels like there is a black hole of information you need to know about Google and its intricacies. There are though a few helpful sites that will help provide clear useable data for you to see how you’re doing! Check our websites like Moz and SEMRush, both of which offer free trials* and are really helpful in understanding how you compare to your competitors.

*Note: If you don’t cancel the free trial expect to pay upwards of £50 to £100 to have access to this data

Worthwhile in the long run

Taking the time to keep your site up to date with valuable content will prove worthwhile over the long run. It can seem a daunting task to come up with ideas, but tackle one post at a time and try to be as consistent as possible.
